Barcelona Win Big in 4-1 Victory Over Espanyol

Puado Scores Consolation Goal for Home Side

Barcelona Remain Four Points Behind Leaders

Barcelona picked up their second consecutive La Liga win on Sunday with a 4-1 victory over local rivals Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium.

The visitors took the lead in the 7th minute through a Frenkie de Jong strike, and doubled their advantage just before half-time when Robert Lewandowski headed home a cross from Ousmane Dembele.

Espanyol pulled one back in the 73rd minute when Javi Puado fired home a long ball that bisected the Barcelona defense, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed as Barcelona restored their two-goal lead just three minutes later through Ansu Fati.

Pedri rounded off the scoring in the 85th minute with a fine solo effort, securing all three points for Barcelona.

The win moves Barcelona up to second in the La Liga table, four points behind leaders Real Madrid. Espanyol, meanwhile, remain 12th.

Barcelona will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they host Villarreal next weekend, while Espanyol will travel to Getafe.
