Election Schedule and Model Code of Conduct
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the upcoming elections for the President and Vice President of India, as well as the Rajya Sabha (Council of States) and Lok Sabha (House of the People). The election schedule was announced on 10 March 2019, and with it, the Model Code of Conduct came into effect.
Lok Sabha Elections and Electoral Process
Members of the Lok Sabha (House of the People) or the lower house of Parliament of India are elected by being voted upon by all eligible voters.
2024 General Election
India's 2024 general election will be held over six weeks between 19 April and 1 June.
