Mexico falls to FIFA Legends despite Jorge Campos' heroics

Miguel Layún misses penalty as Mexico loses 4-3 in exhibition match

On Saturday, the Mexican national team faced off against the FIFA Legends in an exhibition match at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Despite a valiant effort by goalkeeper Jorge Campos, Mexico fell to the FIFA Legends 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 3-3 draw. Campos, who came out of retirement for the match, made several key saves to keep Mexico in the game. However, Miguel Layún's missed penalty in the shootout proved to be the difference. The FIFA Legends were led by former Brazil star Ronaldinho, who scored a stunning free kick in the first half. Other goals for the Legends came from David Trezeguet, Rivaldo, and Claudio Caniggia.

Mexico's goals were scored by Hirving Lozano, Raúl Jiménez, and Andrés Guardado.

Mexico comes from behind to tie match Despite falling behind 2-0 early in the match, Mexico rallied to tie the game in the second half. Jiménez scored a stunning goal from outside the box to make it 2-1, and Guardado equalized with a header in the 70th minute.

The match went to a penalty shootout after neither team could find a winning goal in extra time. Layún's miss proved to be the difference, as the FIFA Legends won the shootout 4-3. Despite the loss, Mexico put in a spirited performance against a team of world-class legends.
